Click on the “I agree and create an account” button.

Your PayPal account is operational, but there are still a few steps you need to follow.

Here are two of the most important steps:

1. Verify your account.

First, you will have to verify your email address. PayPal will send a verification email to the email address you provided to confirm your account.

2. Link a bank card to PayPal

You cannot currently link your PayPal account to your checking or savings bank account. You can only connect a bank card in 2024.

To link a GBTI or Republic Bank debit card to your new PayPal account, you must first have a bank account. Make sure the bank issues you with a credit or debit card. Some of the top banks in the country are:

GBTI Bank VISA Card
  • Scotia Bank
  • GBTI Bank,
  • Republic Bank (card is locked; request to be unlocked)
  • Citizen Bank

You will need to enter the 16 digits on the front of your credit card or debit card. Also on the back of the card is a 3-digit security number. You will have to uncover it if you have not done so yet.

PayPal will then deduct about US $1 from your account as part of the verification process. This process will take about 2-3 days.

To prove ownership of the card you enter, you need the 4-digit transaction code to verify the account. Check your bank statement online from your bank statement or visit the bank to request the code. Next, enter the code, and PayPal will verify your card.

You can now start sending money using PayPal in your web browser or mobile app.
